Can you be productive and lazy at the same time? The answer is yes!

You ever open social media and get bombarded by posts telling you to be productive and not be lazy? Or maybe you got a friend or family member telling you how bad being lazy is? Well, jokes on them you are going to learn 3 steps which will give you the freedom to be lazy without compromising on your productivity. enter image description here

Step 1: Bite sized wins

The choice is not between 0 hour work weeks and 100 hour work weeks. The choice is between no work and some work, and you will chose some work. Set small, short term goals which are easily achievable for you. Solve 5 questions of your math course, write one page of your book, go to the gym and just do 2 exercises, read a small article online instead of a whole giant book - you get the point. Figure out the smaller and more achievable equivalent of the task you are dealing with.

Step 2: Celebrate your wins

"But I just read this small article, nothing to celebrate about that."

You sure? You choosing to read an article over watching another cat video is already a win (no hate to cat vids, I like them too). The point of these small wins is not to stop your progress at them, but to let compounding do its work. You'll soon start reading two articles, writing two pages, doing 10 math problems, doing full on exercise programs and so on...

The goal is to get some momentum with small goals and also manage a bit of laziness in so the change is not too drastic for you.

Step 3: Embrace imperfection

We know you have friends who are just so perfect. But you don't need to be like them - you need to be you. Embrace your imperfections. You are going to slip up your habits once in a while. You are going to cheat on your diet someday. You are going to sleep before reading one day. And it is totally fine. Not every day has to be perfect. Not every task demands our perfection. Just get some stuff done, and move on.

Conclusion

Laziness doesn't have to be fought with complete painful discipline (however motivating or demotivating that may sound). It can be fought with compounding effects of small actions. So start setting small goals, celebrate your every win and don't go too hard on yourself if you slip up every once in a while. Have fun! Goodbye!
